Video

Video is one of the medium I feel the most comfortable in. The process can be quite long and definitely requires more equipment, which can make the experience more challenging than other media.

Like photography, it allows a different perspective in story telling

OOVs are an interesting branch of video content; by allowing more freedom and mobility in the coverage of any event. I chose to cover Lyon's Beer Festival, for a more cultural and lifestyle news piece.

I've had a strong interest in anthropology for a while now, and find it quite relevant and important in journalism. I decided to investigate whether we needed more anthropologists in the news room to enable better coverage and understanding of news stories. As this was a university assessment, I had limited amount of time and was not able to go as in depth as I would have liked to.

Since my first year at university, we have been doing 'News Days', where we would work as journalists in a news room over a day or two -depending on the media used (print, video, radio or multimedia). Another student and I decided to do a more 'soft news' episode, we called 'Art Time', aiming to do a small coverage of an artist's work.
